I knew Waylon since I was born and he was like a great-uncle to most of us kids.
He was close friends with my Grandpa Cash and my Grandma June. He and his wife, Jessi also became very close with my Grandpa Carl Smith and his wife, my ‘Grandma Goldie’. There is something about his look in this that resonates with me and that’s why I chose to do this stage of Waylon.
