Our dear old family friend, the amazing Photographer , Chalkie Davies kindly allowed me to use one of his NME cover images again as a reference photo-this one from ‘77.
I made some minor changes to my painting that are different from the original photo. Some things do not translate as well painted.
A little history about my connection to the subject.:
When my step dad’s group, Rockpile, toured with Blondie when I was small, I have very vivid memories of being there and in Central Park for the show. I know an other member of the group much better but, saw this photo and wanted to do my interpretation.
This piece was a challenge and actually more difficult for me to master.
